so not expensive. needs HDMI out for the TV and digital out for the Amp. either. or even analoge out to go into an oldish NAD amp.

it seems that the makers have stopped listing all the outlets and saying yes or no and then when they list it it can be dubious if they output stero or surrond sound.

any sugestions? oh the TV is a Samsung 32" jobby. with built in iplayer etc.

of the top of my head no idea.

that that it matters as i have said what audio conentions i need.

digital but needs to be surround (optical or coax) or 5.1 analoge

TV will be fed by HDMI

and the TV is also connected by a Digi cable for sound from TV but it only ouputs stereo and i dont think it transfers external input audio.

Now back in the UK and decided not to buy before which may have been a good idea.

i learnt a bit about the TV as well it will pass through a 5.1 signal from HDMI input to a optical out. But you have to change the output to the correct bitstream DD or DTS which is fine for me but no good for use in the rental.

but my old Panasonic BD-35 will bitstream both out as required so that is problem solved.

just need to get another player for the parents as they had the BD-35.

same TV only needs analog stereo to the Hifi. So that can come from the TV optical out so sorted really.

forgot how slow the DB-35 was though.
