Hi
26 foot long room, planning the usual PJ and screen and speaker 7.1 set up. Arcam AVR600 links through to a JVC DLA-HD950, B&W 803D fronts.
The sources and Amps can be put at the front or the rear of the room, ie nearer the speakers or the PJ. In the middle doesnt work.
Questions:
1. Am I better off having a longer speaker cable run or a longer HDMI run for best quality pictures and sounds?
2. As the HDMI cable will have to be a minimum of 12 feet anyway (guessing, not measured this yet but if the sources go at the back I still need to run up the wall and through the ceiling space) what is the best HDMI cable to use for a longer run?
3. Power cord reviews state that they can improve the PJ picture, will they still work if they are in the equivalent of an extension lead? Again they all seem to be 1m or 1.5m and I need 4m or so. If I run a cable into the roof space and put an in-line socket on the end, then use a better power cord for the last 1m, will I notice the improvement?
(I am going to have to test upgrade power cables to test for a noticeable improvement over the shorter length but would prefer if this thread didnt degenerate into another for/against upgrade cable discussion).
Thanks
Dak
