Long distance connections???

My first post. Can anyone advise on how to get the best quality and what to use to connect a camcorder to a TV so that effectively live pictures and sound are transferred during the recording (wedding) over about 12 metres of cable. I have not started experimenting yet but the TV to be used is an old CRT which only has S-Video or composite video inputs.

Can I simply add a couple of 5m S-video extension leads to the short one from the camcorder?

Any help appreciated.

If this is an one off event, probabily not worth investing in very high quality cables or video modulators. I've conencted a Sony HDR-FX1 with 50m of composite cable and projected the video on a 3m screen with impressive (unexpected) good results.

Chosing S-Video over composite video will have a big impact on quality since the color signal is sent separately from luminance signal and will offer a better picture over long distances.

Thanks MaxInc sounds encouraging. I assume you did not find a 50m cable? What lenghts did you use and how did you connect them up?

This was for a medical conference transmitting live surgery + sound from theather to the auditorium. I've bought a 100m reel of tripple shielded interconnect cable off the internet, about £80 for 100m and soldered metal Phono connectors from Maplin.
