My sofas are set back to the wall and are rather large too be pulling into the centre. They have low backs and are fine for film watching on 5.1. However if I want to selfishly indulge myself to listening to music on my own I would prefer to centre myself in the room with a low backed black leather chair.

Has anybody got any good recommendations or links?

The 'official' manufacturer of the Eames lounge chair and Ottoman....

Incredibly comfortable the few times I have been lucky enough to spend time with one.

Try looking at something from the Fjords range at "Back in Action" at 7 Whitcomb street (just around the corner from the back of the Sainsbury wing at the National Galley)

I can vouch that they are superbly comfortable and about a third of the price of an Eames!

Whilst you are there, pop just around the corner into Panton Street and get yourself a great lunch at 'The Stockpot'. (Marvel at their Dumb Waiter and the ancient manual key press cash till!)

Wow, some of these chairs look fantastic!

I have to be honest though I do not have any where near the budget or the power of persuasion with the Mrs to buy a £1500 plus chair.

I live in Ireland so eBay would be my best bet. I did see some black leather seats in Ikea, Dublin for ?200ish. That would be my limit really. I'm quite clearly not as rich as some of you fellas.

However I have enjoyed marvelling over some of the sleek and stylish seats available. Must by my lottery ticket tomorrow.

Chebs, bought an Eames but had to let it go as only came to my shoulders ... so no support really. The Cole by Habitat is just perfect; supports head and neck in comfort and the arm rests allow very easy supping of beverage and minimal wrist action for RC use.

Much better than my Egg chair, which is only comfy for 'the little people'. DOHH !

There's also this chair which if you lie in for more than 15 mins you will fall asleep in. We used to have this in the physio unit I used to work in and it's great for relieving back ache.

Cost about a grand though so not that much help either adam. Sorry

No idea why this didn't post as a link BTW...

You have to use the "link" button when you post links to make them links.

George Clooney made a nice comfy looking rocking chair in Burn After Reading, said it cost him 100 bucks!

Ahh - ta much.

Was that the chair that also had it's own built-in 'entertainment' system???

Ooh, sexy! Beware internet retailers who don't publish prices and invite enquiries. I won't be so indelicate as to ask how much that baby set you back!

Was only £450. Beware though, they do 2 white leathers, practically the same, and one is £100 more. Naturally, the one they put down first for me was the more expensive one, and I had to tell them to change it 🙂

Got one of these too, which wasn't as reasonable!

That's pretty reasonable. I'd be worried that the cat would shred it though.

Yeah that's what I thought, very reasonable, even the 100 quid extra one.

I'd be worried that the cat would shred it though.

Eh? I don't own a cat. Crazy man!

Nice. Don't think I could convince the wife to sit in the George Clooney chair!

I think it would be a little uncomfortable for me too 😉
