hey all!

i have just purchased a TV second hand however im looking to hook some 1200Watt speakers up to it, unfortunately the only outputs i have is:

1: digital optical port

2: headphone port.

i dont want a cinema system as i have nowhere for the DVD player.

how can i make this possible ?

is it as simple as plugging some active speakers into the headphone jack?

i can run a separate amp if that would be better but it needs to be a small unit.

i dont want to spend any ££££ until i know its going to work!

any help you guys can give would be great!!

cheers

What's your budget? A separates system does not include a DVD player. Would a slim receiver like this meet your expectations?:

What sort of speakers are you looking for? Bookshelf? Floor standing?
