With a Kuro, I would have thought that you may perhaps consider a Pioneer BDP-LX52 instead, unless you are looking for the added functionality offered by the LG-BD390?

My main priority is picture and sound performance, the features aren't really that important. I think I should wait for this year's new BDPs...

After much debate - much of it here on the WHF forums (see other threads) - I went for the sony BDP-S760 for my Kuro and the picture is stunning

(dark glasses required!)... what I'm saying is you don't need to wait, there will always be a better BDP / Screen / Amp just about to be released...

Fair point, I may need to do some demoing (don't think that's a word!).

I've got £40 worth of vouchers to use at Superfi, they expire in March, so I need to be quick!

Superfi have the MR for DVD version of the BDP-S760 at £329.95 - same price as RS (where I got mine) and this was the cheapest available...

Getting it for £289.95 would seem a steal! Definitely do some demoing

For pure A/V performance, you must also consider the Denon DVD-2500BT which betters the Sony BDP-S760 in both areas. This was a £900.00 machine not too long ago that can now be had for about £430.00 new.

Higher up the budget, the choices would be the Sony BDP-S5000ES or the Pioneer BDP-LX91

It may be genuine, but I will be wary of a website with no direct access to customer services, & the only way to contact them being an online form.

They're based in Belfast, not Jersey.

I've used Sendit loads of times for dvd, music and blu-ray. They were Blackstar (remember them?) until a few years ago, who advertised frequently in DVDReview and the like. They're perfectly legit.

I'm not comfortable with websites who do not follow basic stuff like providing a telephone number & address to contact. They may well be legit, but are doing things a legit website shouldn't do, exactly the kind of websites the consumer forums warn us about.
