Please can someone explain why the 32LH7000 gets a more favourable review than it's bigger 42" brother? I would have expected the only difference to be the size - is this not the case or do the reviews just vary due to different reviewers own opinions?? One example of this is the fact that the speakers/sound on the 42" version generally gets slated but the What Hifi review of the 32" set sounds quite decent.

Every set has to be reviewed both on its own merit (and price), plus on those of its rivals. Different screen sizes means different base panels, different speakers, different challenges to a TV's upscaling engine - and more. And that's before you consider a set may meet lesser or greater competition in its price point at a particular size....

Indeed, screens that different in size may well even have come from different generations of 'mother glass'.

As for the sound, perhaps the extra space available in the larger cabinets of 42in models means the bar is set higher for sound quality than it is in 32in screens.

Thank you.

One more question: if a TV's sound is reported to have negative issues in a review (like the LG 42LH7000 is), is this purely down to the TV's own speakers and, as such, to be completely ignored if the TV is always connected to either stereo speakers (using RCA leads) or a surround sound system? Or is it something else to do with the how the sound is produced which external speakers won't remedy? I just want to know whether I need to be concerned with the audio section of a review because I will always be going through my stereo.
