I have brought one of a Marantz 6000 ki signature but the unit had an annoying jump mid way through CDs so I replaced the laser but this has only gotten worse I have tried adjusting the laser but it just won't play with out jumping. Possible a faulty replacement but please does anyone have any advice ??

That sounds like a gearing issue rather than a laser issue.
Check all the gearwheels - make sure there aren't any missing teeth.

If you can't find the fault it might be time for a new CD player 🙁

No missing teeth on either the old laser assembly or the new one
The cd does seem to run in an very uneven way not flat and smooth but looking on YouTube there seems to be clips shows others running the same.
I swapped the top of the motor over from the original laser unit as the new one was smooth and didn't seem to hold the cd.
When adjusting the laser it changes where it slips and wether it will play CD-Rs or not but it's newer fully working.
Will either jump at start or end or in the middle.

Any ideas what's wrong with it?
I have tried to replace the laser there is a chance that it's a faulty replacement.

Did you buy the laser from the guy who sold you the c.d player ?
My old Nad did the same thing. Bin it and put it down to experience.
If it was advertised as working then get e-bay involved. Was it from a business or private.

No the lasers are readily available and supposed to be a drop in replacement.
