Drive Modes only affect 50Hz signals (not Blu-ray, for example). ÿThe general consensus is that Drive Mode 2 is best - especially for sport. ÿThey should have an effect on motion/judder. ÿSome folk use 1 for film material (DVD), and 2 for video. ÿAnother little tuning tip is to have Pure Cinema OFF most of the time, but set it on ADVANCE for Blu-ray.

You can find all of this information (and the calibration settings) on a specialist forum for the 8G Kuros.ÿ

Hi topbloke55,

how did you come to those settings? Are they your preferences or have you calibrated with soft/hardware?

regards

I think our settings are very similar, if not the same for our Pio. I found these on "another site" and they seem to have worked a treat, although our room is pretty bright so they were tweaked to preference.

Thanks for your replies, I'm going to switch to Drive Mode 2 and will see how it goes.

I'm experiencing some problems in setting the IP mode to 1 and the Pure Cinema Film Mode to Advanced - all the options are greyed out. Has anyone else experienced this?

IP Mode and Pure Cinema only affects interlaced signals. With Blu Ray at 1080p24hz, the TV automatically processes the signal correctly. For Sky Plus/Freeview, I leave it at IP Mode 1, Drive Mode 2 and Pure Cinema Off. For PS3/Blu-Ray I leave Pure Cinema Off, Drive Mode 1 and IP Mode 1.

Fuzzy - it won't let me change the IP mode to 1! I've tried resetting the settings but something seems to be up. Thanks for putting my mind at rest regarding the Pure Cinema =P.

The people "in the know" recommend Pure Cinema ADVANCED for Blu-ray. ÿI also prefer to go with the option of setting DRE to "low" and bringing the sharpness back up to 0 from -15. ÿFor me, it seems a punchier picture.
