igglebert:OK, I stuck a 'near starting price' bid in and lost. I suspect a good thing as I love my Spens!! Alears, I hope it was you that got them as you have a good amp to reveal their qualities!! Any amp that I'll own won't do them half justice, my nagging doubt from the start.

Was a little surprised you even mentioned them - you love those Spendors.

Yes, indeed. It was a bad impulse thing, not a sensible way to buy hifi. I was curious to hear those tweeters as much as anything, used in the Art Emotion Signatures. My amp would probably make them sound like sandpaper!

I hope they've gone to a good home. One that suits Rosenut.

Mind you they do look rather tasty. I might just *** into Infidelity and have a quick listen.... purely out of curiosity (and for research of course

I've been away from computer so missed most of this.

Sorry to hear of your loss...so to speak.

I wasn't actually bidding for them, although I would have if my current listening room had been a lot bigger.

I heard them a while ago with some Cyrus kit and they are very good and you are right they would have suited my amp, unfortunately do not have enough space for them to do their thing.

I think for £1031 somebody got a veritable bargain.

I've got a pair of EB2's on order by the way.

I wasn't really bothered nor serious about them as too many other things going on at the mo.

I'm surprised you think they won't suit your room but the EB2s will. I presume this is something to do with the C10s having a rear port and needing two feet or so behind. On reflection, I bet the C10s are incredibly difficult to get right if you don't have plenty of space. Nobody wants boom.

Would love to hear how you get on with the EB2s.

No great loss then eh!

As I said they did produce a great sound and that tweter certainly is the dog's bitz and contributes a great deal to that sound. However, as you rightly pointed out, I think 2ft from rear wall would be a minimum, certainly if you room was on the narrow side.

Will let you know how the EB's turn out whenever they eventually appear and I've had time to put some music to them!

I've got to second that one PP, you've got to be the greatest proponent of the SA1 on this forum igglebert, you've even got me interested in them, saw some in wenge the other day, droool

Haha, don't worry, I'm still an SA1 nut. It was only the prospect of a £2.8k monitor that even tempted me, but even then they'd not look half as good as the SA1. They may not be high-end but they're bloody good and remarkably coherent across their output. More to come when I play with better amps and sources next year.

BTW Wenge looks superb too!
