What version did I hear? Don't know and don't care.

Get them in a comparative demo situation and the exact version would be of some relevance.

These were standard W8. Guys who own them insist on minimum 250W of clean power into 4 Ohm. And ideally 400W+

Ellisdj if you get a chance to hear or perhaps review them I'm sure you will be astounded by performance from such small boxes.

Please however note that changes to acoustic treatment might be in order as the tweeter is a facing the back. They rely on wall and ceiling reflections to project a big soundstage. I spoken to David from GIK Acoustics about room treatment for omnidirectional speakers and it was a fascinating chat however we didn't really agree on how one would treat the room with these in as a rule of thumb.

There is a review for them on 6 Moons and the listening room acoustic treatment looked like the opposite of what you should do.

Diffusors on the front wall - a long way behind the speakers and foam in the corners - pointless.

However for rear firing tweeters maybe that was best.

They seem like Speakers designed to work in a more normal room - similar to Larsen in a way. Still need your bass trapping for any design.

Tall with big sweet spot. I don't think you can call it a spot. They sounded most impressive when standing up for me.

So your impression wasnt of a very deep sound stage - far beyond the speakers?

I wondered what a rear tweeter actually does?

I don't think the depth was better than what my system does. It was very good don't get me wrong but it wasn't the first thing you noticed. Height was seriously impressive particularly without you having to stay glued to one place. And all from speakers that are only a couple of feet tall.

you dont get that from the photos - they look like a normal size speaker - so very much like Larsen then interesting

He actually enjoyed them he commented earlier. Whether he'd buy them is an entirely different matter. Also if there is anything other he prefers more.

Speakers are absolutely tiny. Side firing woofer is 6.5 inches 🙂

Very inefficient with not a big driver to do bass out of a little box. Do they need 400W not sure but that's what Ive heard from their owner.
