KEF new Q series with meta tech is currently on sale. Its brand new, essentially. Why is the Q7 towers being offered on sale already? Does anyone know if there are quality, production issue or something to prompt the sale? I will consider a purchase at their sale price if there isnt an underlying issue. Any thoughts/knowledge would be appreciated.

could be as simple as they arnt shifting, people strive for LS50s or the R3's I suspect.

Same thing happed with the naim nait 50 2 years around dealers are still stick with units they cant sell.

As the old saying goes there loss your gain.

We have no proof of any reduced prices as of yet, so this is all guesswork. I initial launches of ranges can be a little slow sometimes due to remaining stock of the outgoing range and the deals to be had on them, so any meaningful sales figures can't be made until a good 6-12 months until after launch.
The main issue with the Nait50 was its ridiculous price - it might be a bit of nostalgia (I loved the original couple of Naits!), but charging 10 times what it was originally worth? The Musical Fidelity A1 was priced far more sensibly - and there was twice as much of it as well!

this has the Q7 Meta down from 1250$ to 998$ in Canadian funds. Hence my thoughts that there might be something going on with these as they were released not very long ago. If those that are a bit more connected to the hifi world than me are saying they havent heard of anything or maybe its just a case of them not selling then i take their word for it. i appreciate the responses. Jury still out if i purchase or not.

I should have put "if they're reducing prices" my bad. Naim is naim I guess they seem to think they can charge what they like TBH it why I tend to buy everything second hand these days. BUT thats going off tangent a little

But I cant complain I got the nait for for a little over 1300 which is more inline I guess.

The reduced price is for each speaker, so one pair will be $1996 / £1118. These retail at £1399 in the UK, so a £281 reduction is not outrageous. An end of line reduction would be more like a 50% reduction to shift the stock, so I wouldn't be too concerned about that.
I'm sure the Q7 meta will be a great sounding speaker, I owned KEF Q5's previously and they were really very good, so I expect the latest generation will be even better and worth the money.

Sheer speculation, but the Concerto has had lots of attention because it has a name resurrected from KEF’s past, whereas the Q1 and Q7 are less newsworthy, so they are probably trying to shift stock.

Like all companies, cash flow matters, and often it’s better to shift some boxes, especially if their financial year end in March 2025.
