Anybody heard any news on Kef releasing a new version of the LSX? Was punted last year but it’s all gone quiet. Facts and rumours both appreciated.

I hadn’t heard it even rumoured, but it’s pretty likely now the Reference range have had the Meta treatment. The LSX might be next, and then the R series I guess?

I’m looking to go for the lsx see but would hate to invest and then 2 months later the meta versions come out and loads of improvements and new software etc!! It certainly seems like the Meta and the software are obvious huge improvements that surely kef will implement.
Its my 40th in a few weeks and they are going to be a family treat so want it to be worthwhile.
Oh how the marketing departments toy with our lives.

It’s mentions ‘various’ new products. I’m sure a new lsx will be there. It was touted 2 years ago and some images are leaked online. Buzzin.

It doesn't have anything to do with the cabinet though. A look at the white papers for the Meta equipped speakers goes into detail about the integration with the tweeter.
So what is:-
A truly revolutionary tool in the KEF acoustic armoury, Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT) is a highly complex maze-like structure that eliminates unwanted sound from the rear of driver, resulting in a purer, more natural performance.

They do also have a new generation driver array also but this has Nothing to do with the 'meta ' bit....

It's an extension/adaptation of the tapered tube concept - it's a sealed system comprising the back of the tweeter, a short tube that runs through the midrange motor system, and terminates with a plastic disc.
