I have a Kef 2005.3 speaker package with a K2 sub. There is a distinct hum from it, even if I switch off the AV receiver (Marantz NR 1501). Its all brand new kit. I have already been back to Richer sounds and changed the sub and this one is the same. Any advice?

thanks

Yipee have found the solution. K2 is earthed, Marantz reciever is not, connect an earth to the casing on the Marantz and all is solved.

Easy...... get a three pin plug, remove the live and neutral pins so that there is no chance of any mains connection. Connect a single insulated wire from the earth pin to the earth connection on the receiver; if the receiver does not have an earth connection loosen a screw on the case and wrap the wire round that, a simple crimp on spade connector may make things look neater. Put the plug into the same mains supply as the sub. This has worked wonders for me.

Hope this helps
