Actually it is £10 + £15 delivery but "Toona for a tenner" sounded better

plastic penguin:Nice one - does it have a mono button?

Dunno yet. But I expect it'll be ok anyway. I already have a decent FM roof aerial fitted last year (for my old Solo-Mini) so reception will not be a problem. (Line of sight from our roof of the Rowridge transmitter).

It will spend 99 percent of it's duties on BBC R2/R3/R4 and BBC local radio and reception is always strong for those. I just thought I may need the mono button for weaker more distant stations but they are usually rubbish commercial stations so not important really.

If I get more encouraging news about significant delays to the proposed 2015 FM/AM 'switch-off' I may upgrade to a TU-1500AE or even the TU-1800 one day but whilst there is only 6 years left, then there is little point in spending lots more.

Hey Chebby. I like the Vulcan B1 avatar. I'm a bit of a Vulcan fan and saw it's recent maiden flight with a Lancaster at Waddington last year. Are you a fan too?

Fantastic. Sounds fairly similar to my ATC 'career' but mine covers the Tornado era a bit more. Shame the Vulcan has been grounded for safety reasons.

plastic penguin:Slightly off topic, but did you see a programme last week about Britain's superweapons? They profiled RAF's Bomber fleet, where Avro, Handley Page and Vickers were all vying for supremecy. fascinating stuff.

Just watched it on CH4 on demand. Thanks
Next episode this Wednesday.

andrewknight:Good effort chebby, got my eye on a couple of Creek tuners on that site.

If it were me I would jump on the 3140 (£45 buy it now). He gets some excellent stuff.

I'm hanging in there for the ones on auction. I only paid £45 for my amp so I don't want to spend the same on a tuner.

That cost me £120 way back in the late 80's or was it early 90's. Mine was the L model and it was a good un. I just never got round to buying a decent rooftop aerial which it deserved. I am surprised not to see this model gracing the back page on WHF as it is a classic Tuner.
