I will berunning them on Audiolab 8000a mk2 and 8000p in bi amp mode my CD player is an Arcam Diva CD73T will this be ok and how long do they need to be run in for I look forward to you thoughts. My music taste is mainly prog rock Marilllion,Musee etc

Well done. Leave them playing 24/7 for 3 days. By Monday evening you'll be set.

hi iv had my br5 for 2 years now, im also using a cd73 player. with a rotel ra05 SE amp give them as already said 3 days to 2 weeks and they will be great. my br5's sound great, and i can report after 2 years no problems and the finish is as it was when new no fading of cabinet, drivers or fixings. and they sound as good now as they did new. i found blackrhodium ast 400 bi-wire to be a good cable match for the br5 qed a little to bright. hope this helps..........p.s i also found bi-wire does improve them after trying single cable......

Lewis

Your BR5's should sound pretty stunning for their price on the end of an 8000a and 8000p.

Enjoy your speakers Lewis; sounds like it'll be a fun time with the Audiolabs doing the beefy duties!

Sorry to bring this post back but i've just purchase these speakers too. Ref running them in is its best to have them at a low volume for the next few days/weeks before i turn the dial up to my usual listening level? Sorry its been that long i can't remember..

from what I remember you should run them at low volume for a few days then gradually turn them up every couple of days. I could be wrong though and im sure someone more in the know will drop a post...

You're welcome. I seem to remember that's how I settled in my last pair of new speakers but it was a few years ago so may not be the text book way of doing it.

bought a pair in april , changed them after 6 weeks for rx6s , never bothered gently running them in , i had em playing very loud right from the off with no problems , they started to sound better after around 4 weeks too , smoother ..
