ITV Audio sounds Flat

Anyone else noticed how flat ITV’s sound compared to BBC's especially when showing LIVE music or a music based show or is it just me?

Well the BBC broadcasts audio at a higher bitrate than ITV! 256kbit/s(BBC) opposed to 192kbit/s(ITV).

Presumably you are listening to BBC HD (Later?) in 5.1 via your Sky box. ITV broadcasts are only in stereo.

No, I think daveh75 is right bitrate's the problem. Just tried ripping a cd @ 192kbps and 256kbps and using the squeezebox, the difference is quite marked.
