Itunes - Sync with external hard drive

Possibly being a little dumb here, but is there a way to sync my itunes library with an external hard drive?

I want to do this to keep a backup, i do not want to move my library to the external drive.

Obviously, i can drag and drop the entire folder. But taking four hours to do this every time seems a little pointless.

Any decent backup software should do this - ie effectively copy any changes.

Mac or PC ? (can't help with the latter)

I'd be amazed if Win 7 doesn't have something built in. Can't help further as I live in a world that shuns anything Microsoft - but others will help and a solution certainly won't be far away or difficult to implement...

Didn't even think of checking for anything built in. Doesn't look like there is (SyncCenter (sic) doesn't appear to do what i want).

But i have just downloaded and am running Microsoft's "SyncToy". So hopefully that'll work fine.

Quick Update.

Sync Toy works like a charm, in case anyone else has a similar need.

Also, after a little more digging / research deleted 30GB (not a typo) of old itunes temp files(!)
