iTunes Help!

Please forgive me for posting this here, but I'm a bit desperate!

I recently bought a new PC Windows 8.1 and tried to install iTunes, but it kept coming up with an error message "apple application support could not be found" or words to that effect... I've looked it up on line, spoke to an Apple support person and had a PC specialist round, but nobody has found a solution.

I think I'll probably ditch the PC and have to buy a Windows 10 machine, but I'm afraid the same thing will happen.

Has anyone else come across this problem? if so, any solution?

Get a Mac.

It's something I have considered and not totally ruled out for the future, but with voice over which I'd have to use, it's a whole new ball game when using the Mac keyboard.
