iTunes errors

Hi

Has anyone else ever encountered a problem with ripping CDs in iTunes on a mac with the first track of a disc only....I've had it happen a couple of times now (both discs of The Name of This Band is Talking Heads and Ornette Coleman's Shape of Jazz to Come) - anyone have a solution???

Not sure I'll have a solution, but what errors exactly? Skipping? Have you tried ticking 'use error correction'?

I suppose heavy distortion would be my best description?

Error correction is ticked.

Short answer is no I'm afraid. Have ou tried ripping from a different drive or ripping with different software?

No need for different software.

'Lonely Woman'* from my iTunes / Apple Lossless rip of TSOJTC is absolutely fine. (Done a couple of years ago on our venerable iMac.)

I'm listening to it now - because of your thread - via AirPlay from the iMac and there is no distortion.

But unfortunately he doesn't have your copy of the album, only his own, and perhaps using different software to rip it, or a different drive if he has one going spare, will effect a cure in his case.

...using a 6 month old iMac with USB Superdrive / iTunes to Apple Lossless.

I don't have a different drive but will try different software.
