Itching to buy a Panny PZ80 plasma but . . . !

I've been doing my research the last few weeks and seem to have settled on the Panasonic PZ80 as my choice of new TV. But the more I look into it the more questions I seem to come up with - lip synch issues with the Panasonics; noisy cooling fans making quiet programmes almost unwatchable; the presence of the PZ85; power consumption (vs LCD); short screen life of plasma vs LCD; plasma screens being phased out; whether it's worth paying more than the £710 from Curry's and Comet to get a 5 year warranty?

Any thoughts?
