Right, have taken one step forward in my quest for a cross-platform connected home by downloading iSedora (many thanks to TechMad), which can now play movies which I ripped using handbrake into iPad format (purely for research purposes obviously). However, what I really want to do is play movies purchased from the iTunes store, and the one example I have steadfastly refuses to play. Has anybody had any luck with the above, particularly to a Sony TV or BDP?

I can't test Itunes Movies unfortunately. But a glance at the Sony manual for the S370 suggests that it doesnt support mpeg container series with DRM for network playback.

Might be able to play them with avi/divx though - so try configuring the connected device to just play avi/divx. (I think most Sonys support avi/divx for vod)

The TV just hangs - it looks as if it's going to play, then it 'pauses'; the BDP says "file is corrupt or unsupported format" or somesuch.

I set it to 'always transcode', since that seemed easier than to try to get it to transcode only particular file types - the UI seems a bit -rse about face in that respect. Still no dice.

Its important to select avi/divx for the playing device in this instance. This tells isedora what format to transcode into.

If it still doesnt work a quick question to their support team might be in order.

Their website says it will play Itunes Movies.

Yes, saw their link which seems self-explanatory, but doesn't work for iTunes store-bought content. Will drop them a line...
