is yamaha a s1000/cd1000 worth the extra over the 2000

hi can anyone tell me if the yamaha 1000s cd & amp are worth the extra over the 2000s as ive seen both for a great price. ive heard the 1000 combo and was impressed but higher range versions are not always better, so any help guys wld be great.

Have you got that the right way round ... the 2000 was and is more expensive than the 1000. The 2000 range has XLR balanced interconnects and is a fully balanced design and there is quite a big price difference to the 1000.

hi yes sorry i have got them the wrong way round but as it stands ive seen the 2000s at good prices and wondered if they were indeed better than the 1000s thanks

What's a good price ... cheapest in the UK (new) is around £1200 for the AS2000, although there are some ex-dems/manufacturer refurbished items that appear once in a while for around £900.

I have owned both amplifiers and find the AS2000 clearly better than the AS1000 even through it's unbalanced connections. Using the balanced connections on the AS2000 should be even better.
