Is this change a good idea?

Currently ive got

Audiolab 8000a amplifier
Marantz CD-63SE
Beresford TC7510 DAC
Monitor Auidio BR2
PC with optical out
TV

Considering replacing the Audiolab and Beresford with a 400ish quid AV Reciever - to make the setup smaller/simpler.
How would the DAC compare?
Is this madness?

I use headphones into the DAC a fair bit (listening to music from PC). I don't use the CD much but couldn't image not having a CD player so for now its staying.

I've not heard your amp/dac combo but I'm sure a £400 AVR will not get anywhere near for stereo performance, you would need something in excess of £1000> IMO, I won't suggest getting an AVR with pre-outs as that would only mean more boxes not less.
