i did spot the use of the phrase "I suppose", which should ensure that he does not fall foul of advertising standards.

Why should he 'fall foul of advertising standards'? He's not making any claims for specific products, but rather just offering generic advice, which you can either accept, view with an open mind or completely reject.

Chebby is correct. As with everything Hi-Fi they tend to be one person's opinion and can often be taken with a great degree of scepticism.
