Is this a good deal?

Hi, I am looking at buying a friends home cinema setup of him as he has upgraded. I though it would be a good toe in the water for me and wanted to know whether the kit was worth having.

It is a Monitor Audio Bronze 5.1 surround speaker package - not the latest BX series I think they are he first in the series as they are about 5 yrs old. They are in A1 condition and he wants just over £300.

I was looking at the wharfdale DX1-HCP set and was interested to know whether teh Monitor Audio speakers where better or at least better vaue given there age.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Recievers changed around that time to include a HDMI socket, if it has one it might be a good deal but if it hasn't DO NOT buy.

They are speakers not a Amp, he is providing his Denon amp as well as he doesnt want need it anymore, but I am getting a Sony STR-DN1040
