Don't see why not. I have seen lots of people with really expensive systems only have a Blu-ray player around £200.

+1. Sony S790 also has twin HDMI outs, for 3D if needed.

Not 'significantly better'. I suspect your Denon will play DVDs better. If you want a blu ray player with comparable DVD upscaling ability as your Denon, look at Denon 3313UD or Oppo 103 or Marantz UD7007.
