is the samsung UE468000B worth it?

looking to upgrade my TV and i'm looking at the samsung UE468000B. how much of an improvement will there be especially picture? i like the fact that it's 46" and is good with power consumption, any comments would be appreciated? also can anyone give me help with one of my B&W speakers it seems to of developed a rattle but when i press on the cross over it stops, (its not the woofer) i have checked the srews and binding post!?

Personally I would go for the Samsung PS-50B850 plasma over the UE46B8000. It is also incredibly thin at 1.1 inches but IMHO offers a far more natural and ballanced image over the LCD you have mentioned.

I'd agree with the above comment, but I'd probably go with one of the Panasonic or LG offerings due to the niggles and issues coming with Samsungs LED edgelit and plasma displays.

In my opinion, at the moment the LED edgelit technology isn't quite there, you still get the usual colour, motion, vieiwng angle and eye destroying brightness (which is good for some, but I don't see it!) of LCDs and the black levels are just the same as usual Samsung LCDs in normal viewing, they only get better when the screen is dimmed, which is just a huge niggle. Every time you go from a lit scene to a dark scene you get a noticeable shift in brightness, which in my opinion, is really annoying.

If you want an edge lit tv go look at the new ones coming out in august and compare them with this one. i think its a cool set...gives of a good picture in natural setting but not many leds in it though.
