No it's not a quiet Receiver at all ! I bet you that you won't find anyone on this forum that runs this receiver on max as it would just be to loud ! If you have as massive room like say 15M x 15M then yes it will make sence to go with a more powerful receiver , but if you are just after as Receiver for having in your living room then this product is ideal.

I wouldn't dare get this amp anywhere near Max, the neighbours in the next street may complain!!!

Piece of advise in regard to wattage -don,t be tricked by the number of wattage that you mostly see in the product advertisment , unfortunately this's mostly NOT true in the real world from many AV-Manufacturers.

The important is to find out that these wattage at which given ohms? and is,t a continuous power in all channel driven? take the Onkyo (140w) for example, it claimed that it got 140w , but that only for one or 2 channel channel driven at 6-ohms , now the same amp. it will only output something around 75w in 8-ohms all channels driven, and the same thing with the sony (110w) , Denon are more conservative about power and normaly they are honest about it when you see (90w) that means 90w of continuous power all channnels driven at 8-ohms , so i would say actuallly in the real world , the Denon avr-1910 has more power then the others.
