Is it possible to decode my Panasonic Blu-Ray player to make it region free?

I have a Panasonic DMP-BD50 Blu-Ray player.

Now, I don't know anybody who doesn't have a region 1 DVD or 2. Fair enough if it can't be decoded from region B for Blu-Ray's, but surely there must be a way to decode the DVD encoding.

Can anybody help me?

Thanks for your help on that one. Don't suppose it's also possible to decode the Blu-Ray side of things?

For blu-ray multiregion players need to be chipped, it doesn't appear to be able to be done via IR command like this solution. You'll need to send your player away for it.

You can change DVD playback to region free yourself if you have a One for All, Kameleon, Harmony or Pronto remote .
