Bin Clankem:Andrew Everard:

Bin Clankem:Most of the best films were never recorded in surround sound in the first place.

The technology has been available since they made Fantasia. Released in 1940.

But not always used - I have classics from the 50s and 60s (and even a few from the 70s) which are recorded in mono!

Dog Day Afternoon was. However, are you telling me that it wouldn't be better with a 5.1 soundtrack??

Hi Fi is still alive thanks to this and other mags and forums like this - positive reinforcement!

I was also thinking going AV route (how could I?!) after moving continents (US to UK) but kind forum members steered me in the "right" direction... But I agree in the US its almost dead. I can't recall any of my friends in USofA having a hi-fi setup.
