ipod 120gb video, Audio issue

Hi there,

Bought an Ipod for xmas and hooked it up to my AV Reciever, Sony DA1200ES through the front video/Audio RCA inputs.

The Audio is sooooooooo quiet! I had to turn it up to -15 for a good sound! This is from the headPhone port on the top to a Composite/Audio lead. Would I b better going from an Ipod dock? would i be better going into the cd input?

Is the volume say as loud as a CD input?

Thanks for the tip. Is the bottom output better than the headphone output then?ÿ

By connecting to the port rather than the headphone socket you bypass the Ipod volume control so it is all controlled by your amp.

I use it via a Denon and have connected via the tape and Mini disc phono sockets.

The sound levels are the same as if I was playing a CD and the quality is really good.

It doesn't charge the Ipod though but I was not interested in that or having a dock.

So if I Get a Dock, and use the 3.5mm Jack from that to my amp that shold sound loder right? say the Apple Dock?ÿ

If it connects into the port yes - search the forum using the search box for "ipod docks" or similar, there is a lot of advice and/or suggestions to good value docks on here.
