Hi All,

Had my BDP-570 a few months now, and one of the main reasons I bought it was the wireless network connection and access to iPlayer and LoveFilm online content. Of late though both have become unwatchable, with them pausing and dropping out completely in every programme, for example went to watch a film last night on LoveFilm, in the first hour it must have stopped 8 times, then I gave up.

I thought maybe it is my broadband connection but if I visit LoveFilm though my laptop and watch the film in Chrome I have no issues at all (maybe the tiniesit of glitches but it never stops playing, pauses or drops it's connection like my Sony). And my laptop is using the same broadband and wireless network.

Any ideas?

Maybe the Sony's wireless networking does not work as well with a weak signal? Can you test it near the wireless router to see if it improves? You may find homeplugs would solve the problem.

Thanks for the quick reply, that's a good thought. I'll drag out an old network cable this eve, to see if it's that.

Then like you say it might be time to buy some powerline adaptors

If you decide to use powerline adaptors you may want ton verify that both ends are in the same power group. Sometimes going from one group to anther will not work since there are often filters applied to clean up ripple from the powergrid, essentially allowing only 50-60 Hz.

You may want to use a WiFi extender. Alternatively you cna download software to see if you're using a congested channel and change to one with less interference.

Edit: Netstumbler and Inssider (not a typo) are both free and allow yo to scan the WiFi spectrum for better channels
