iPad to Apple TV problem ....sound but no picture

When I play it the sound comes out TV but I still only see he Apple TV menu.....anybody know the answer?

What exactly are you trying to play from the iPad to the Apple TV? Some apps (Sky Go) for example don't allow video via Airplay but will play sound.
