Apple have discontinued the model, hence they are selling them off.

Yup.

I would avoid this model.

??

So to expand, I mean to say you can find a similarily priced (if not cheaper) tablet which would technically exceed this one in terms of performance. This would most probably be an adroid device.

If android is not your soiree, IMO the buyer would still be better off seeking to wait & save up more money with the intention of a buying a newer model ipad. In a perfect world, this would be the new ipad air. But personally I would activiley avoid the outdated ipad 2.

Can't agree with you I'm afraid. Bought a refurb'd one for the wife for Xmas and it's easily been one of the best purchases I've ever made. There's nothing about it which makes it hopelessly obsolete as far as I can see. I can't think of anything I'd want to do on an iPad Air which I can't still do on an iPad 2, though I can think of a few things the other way round, since they went and changed the connector. Some places are flogging the iPad 2 for as little as £250 which I reckon is an absolute steal.

If that is how you feel, don't mind me. Ipad's overall are good buys.

Don't get me wrong I wasn't trying to pick a fight, just trying to understand why you clearly felt it was so obsolete that it should be 'actively avoided'. I can't think of anything off the top of my head that the current one does game-changingly better. That is all.
