Internet on TV - Sony etc

I notice that the latest Sony TVs are featuring internet content. Can someone please clarify exactly what's on offer here?

For example, if I could get internet radio over the TV (via ethernet presumably) and take a digital audio output into my DAC/hifi, I would be a happy chappy.
