install or export lame

can someone please help me with this, i wish to transfer my vinyl onto my pc. I have downloaded audacity but cant export lame, i must be doing something wrong but have looked on the net and all the sites seem to have the same answers. I am using a basic windows vista system is there a step by step guide i can use or has someone here gone through the same process, any guidance greatly appreciated. P.S. i am not very computer literate.

Have you downloaded and installed LAME ?, One that has been done the first time you export as MP3 Audacity will ask you where Lame is located , select where you have installed Lame and select Open then OK. Hope this helps.
