input resolution

Hi, can any body help as im new to all hi def stuff,my tv is a PIONEER PDP- 435FDE, Ive connected up a Pioneer BDV 51FD, what should the input resolution be as the tv is1024 x 768.

1080p or if it will accept 1080p/24 try that.

Doubtful that screen will accept 1080p, though I haven't checked the manual. I'd try 1080i or 720p, and see which you prefer.

I have my blu-ray player at 1080p into my 4280XD - that seems to work best for me and is recommended elsewhere. ÿMy reasoning is that if you set the player at 720p, you're cutting out some of the information, whereas sending the Pioneer the full signal allows it to downscale from the best possible source (which it does well). ÿI don't know about your particular model.

Checked with the manual, and yes it's 1080i/720p max.

Thanks very much Andrew, I will try that, noticed it also has Auto and Source, a bit confusing for us novices !
