Hi All

i know this has been asked before but times are always changing. I have a budget up to 150 and it's a minefield out there and I am now at the confused stage. I need a pair with great sound and great comfortable fit. I have real problems with the comfort as my ears must be a weird shape.

any suggestions greatly received

thanks everyone

The Sony XBA-2iP are the WHF award winners in that price range, and come with several different sizes of ear bud.

Unfortunately when I google the XBA-2iP, everywhere seems to be sold out.

If you struggle with the comfort of ear buds, I have seen it mentioned on the forum, that it is possible to have bespoke buds made to fit individual ear canal shapes.

Cheers for replying

i have been searching for the ones you mentioned (I read the review before posting) and when I can find them they are coming up nearer the £200 mark.

Real shame they do look the business.

cheers again

The Fidue A73 would be a great investment. I have heard them and they are amazing.

I own the Audiofly AF160 and the A73 to my ears are more fun sounding and have greater bass extension.

Considering my Audiofly's cost me £310 the A73 are a steal at £90 and the perfomance is closer then you think when I compare to my AF160's

These are also great in ear monitors

Amazing sound and fab price per performance.

The final option I would recommend are the awesome

If it were my money then these would be the options I would be looking at.

Go for the earphones you like the sound of, and if necessary buy some Comply tips. The other good thing is to run the cable over the back of your ear forwards and pop them in the front.

At that price the Klipsch X11i is very good as is the audio-technica ATH-CKR9, or for a fair amount less, but a bit bassier, the Beyerdynamic MMX102iE. The latter is a lot of fun, its what I use as it suits my music tastes. The Klipsch and the a-t are more neutral.

If you're still looking then Superfi have the Sennheiser IE80s for £20 over your budget at the moment at £169.95. They're meant to be very good (though lean towards the warm side of things) http://www.superfi.co.uk/p-9904-sennheiser-ie80-earphones.aspx

Or their predecessors, the IE8i, are on offer for a bargain price of £99.99. They're still £279 on the Sennheiser website and were £279 on Amazon yesterday too. http://www.superfi.co.uk/p-17426-sennheiser-ie8i-earphones.aspx

Incidentally I'm not on commision and I'm sure there are other headphones from other suppliers available too!
