Hi,

Sadly i have had to sell my naim stereo system, leaving me with just my av system, which wasn't bought with stereo sound in mind, although its not to bad.

So i have been thinking about how i can improve the stereo sound for minimal cost.

Does anyone have any suggestions.

I am thinking along the lines of replacing the front L & R speakers with some floor standing speakers with a small footprint as i hav'nt much room to position them eg Kef IQ5SE,IQ50,IQ55 etc(probably second hand). Is this a good idea ?Can i use other makes of speaker ?

I take it that i will have stay with kef speakers to match my surrounds and centre, idon't want to replace these as i hav'nt got room for anything larger so a full size speaker system is out of the question.

System-Kef KHT2005.2,Sony STR-a2400es avr,Sony BDP-s370 and a Onkyo ND-S1 ipod dock

A friend of mine had the KEF 2005.2 eggs, and added the 3005SE centre to it, then replaced the fronts with the KEF IQ5SE's recently, which sounds really good.

Since then he has replaced the rears for KEF IQ10's and sub for the AE Radiance......it's a much better sound now!!!

I started with a 2005.2 set up, but wasn't happy with the centre channel, so upgraded it to an MA rs-lcr. Now the centre was great, but it didn't quite gel with the front pair. So I swapped them out for my MA silver 8is. The front three sound brilliant, but the surrounds were a little disconnected, so eventually I got a pair of rxfx. Surround sound is now fantastic, with great musicality.

But I'm not sure about the sub...
