I'm back for Christmas

I've been away as I've been trying to spend less time on forums and online in general.

I bought an Aune X8 DAC as a Christmas present for myself.





Christmas is one of the few times of the year I can properly get to enjoy my hi-fi. I only have this little friend to keep me company until tomorrow.

How do you like the X8? And is that the matched linear power supply? XP1 I think it is? I've got an X1S/X7S stack I'm quite pleased with and I've been looking at that X8 as something to potentially pair with a Topping A90.

Just for you bigboss but I've always thought that the speakers looked kind of ugly. But I bought them new at the distributors price.



The X8 sounds pretty good and I'm thinking of upgrading the opamp to a Burson V5i. It's an XP3 PSU. I actually ordered a X7S as well but decided to use that with my Arcam Solo Mini in my home office with my Philips Fidelio X2HR headphones. I was really impressed with how much it improved the X2HR's. I've ordered another XP3 to use with that. I moved the Beyerdynamic A20 headphone amp and DT880 headphones to my main system.

I also have ordered a Schiit SYS to replaced the QED.

I'm thinking whether to wait on Mordaunt Short Performance 6 to turn up for sale or get the KEF LS50 Meta for the Tag McLaren system. I'm not sure how well the Performance 6 of LS50 match with Tag. They both sound amazing and I love the styling of the Mordaunt Short but less keen on the KEFs.
