I like fast cars and when I lived in Scotland I had a series of Imprezas which were fantastic fun whatever the weather (and bullet-proof reliability). When I moved to Birmingham (and then retired) the Impreza became a very silly car not to mention expensive as they eat petrol and depreciate like crazy. So I went all sensible and bought a town car, a Toyota IQ. This cost almost nothing to run and was very practical and I felt very virtuous. Then I escorted a lady friend who wanted to test drive cars and we visited a Mazda showroom and they had an MX5 on show and I realised how bored I was with the IQ. A month latter I was the proud owner on an MX5. Not as fast as the Impreza but fast enough and it has a wonderful chassis and is great fun.
So I have a fairly mainstream hifi and a sports car. I must be weird!
