I have two questions and would really welcome some advice:

1) I have heard a rumour that blu-ray will not play on a 720p TV. Is this correct? I am thinking of buying a panasonic DMP-BD55 Blu-ray player and want to know if it will play at least 720p.

2) The TV only has 1 HDMI port. Are there any viable solutions to this problem without having to continually swap leads from DVD, Blu-Ray player and potentially SKY+ HD . . .

Any help and advice would be very much appreciated . . .

All blu ray players will output 720p as far as im aware so there shouldnt be a problem there and as for your 1 hdmi problem easy! just use your blu ray player to spin your DVD's. My sky hd box has component out which will output HD to your tv for sure...but theirs a snag I think the new sky HD only has hdmi but i could be wrong.....anyone??

Two solutions on the HDMI issue:
1. If you don't already have an AV receiver, you could look to get one which will accept the HDMI inputs from several sources and output them via one HDMI socket. There are many of these and it would potentially be worth getting one which can also accept the HD audio signals from your Blu-Ray player giving a proper home cinema 5.1 setup.
2. The above is potentially a big change from what you have now of course so you could just get an HDMI splitter box. These come in a range of sizes and prices - here's a site I've used before which offer a few. There are also well known brand named ones like the QED ones.

Thanks very much for the advice from all who posted. Very much appreicated.

Is there a problem of degradation of picture and/or sound quality if you use a splitter or switcher for HDMI?
