It's the inclusion of the Marvell QDEO video processing which will make this a likely purchase for me (seen as how the Arcam BDP100 is a let-down IMO..), as this video processor will make my music DVD collection look as good if not better than my Arcam DV139 does with it's ABT scaler. Video processing is one area CA have been slack in previously I feel, with good if not superb video repro quality.
Add in the sweet Wolfson DACS to replace the Crystal ones found in the 650 model (and the Oppos) and CA have a winner here at £800.
At last a one-box disc based BDP solution.

I'd be curious to see and hear the differences between this latest Oppo and other comparable models. My Pioneer has four DACs of the same type as the Oppo. Will the additional DAC make that much difference, especially as the Pioneer has a dedicated stereo output and this Oppo doesn't? Would the additional picture quality make a difference on a 720p set or would the only be visible in 1080p? Looks like an audition is required.

You can buy the Oppo from Oppo BD UK directly here or from one of these sellers for £499 or thereabouts (depending on whether they have increased the VAT or have absorbed the extra cost).
