im looking to invest in 37/40" smart tv, blu ray player, av receiver, speakers.

i would like to stay under £1500 can push the boat a little further if need be. im a bit of a novice and not sure where to start. i have a denon m38 with a pair of q acoustics 2020 sitting on some soundstyle z2 stands and a project debut mark 3 turntable which i would like to have involved if possible.

any ideas/advice or anyone who can recommend their set up on a similar budget would be much appreciated

cheers sam

Onkyo TXNR609 amp on sale for £379.95 http://www.richersounds.com/product/av-receivers/onkyo/txnr609/onky-txnr609-blk

Q Acoustics 2020i for fronts (your 2020s at the back), with the 2000ci for a centre available on sale together for £249 http://www.petertyson.co.uk/ebuttonz/speakers/qacoustics/index.shtml

Sub could come later, as you'll get decent bass from your other speakers

Samsung UE40D5520 on sale for £479.95 http://www.richersounds.com/product/lcd-tv/samsung/ue40d5520/sams-ue40d5520

That's £1109 I've spent of your money

So lots left for leads and a sub

Look around for a Q Acoustics sub, avoid the 2070 though as there are recorded problems with it.

I have the older, larger 1000si, no problems at all.

Good luck and be quick

Forgot the Blu Ray player; can't go wrong with this for £144.95 http://www.richersounds.com/product/blu-ray/panasonic/dmpbdt210/pana-dmpbdt210

ive decided on the Samsung UE40D5520, q acoustics 2000ci, 2070si, Panasonic DMP-BDT210.

i was heading in the direction of the denon avr1912 as it has the airplay function but it seems i will be comprising in sound quality against the onkyo / yamaha. i guess i will need to decide how much use will i get out of the airplay function. i will probably go have a listen at richersounds sometime this week and decide then.

could i go with 2010i with my 2020? or is the 2020i worth that little bit extra?

Judging by the reviews, I would go for the 2020is, in fact, I have.

I have them and the 2000ci on order at the moment, due to arrive on the 3rd, so I could let you know after that date what I think of them, but that might be too late to get them at £144.

I also considered the Dali Zensor 1s, with Dali Zensor Vokal as a centre, but as I have a Q Acoustics sub (1000si) and rears (1010i), I decided to keep the system all the same. I thought this would make sense for you too, as you already have the 2020s. Plus the best price for the Dali set up would have been a fair bit more money.

Amp wise, go to Richer Sounds and have a listen, the Onkyo and Yamaha have great reviews, trust your own ears I guess.

Good Luck

Hi Sam,

I'm thinking of buying the Soundstyle Z2 stands for my QA 2020i's but wondering whether the top plate's too small. Do your speakers sit on the Z2's comfortably?

Thanks,

Rob
