Been abroad on business for quite some time. Came back to find no improvement regarding your pointless posting Gel. Go out more.
I am free to post what I like, so do one!

Soooo touchy,

shouldn`t you be in school this time of day? Just an observation regarding your postings. All for posting what you like, Just nice when there is a point to it and forums should be there so we can help each other out with questions/solutions to problems and also sharing experience. That`s what the forums are for. I find it annoying when looking for resolutions to problems finding myself having to trawl through endless pointless posts which merely take up space and achieve nothing.

If " do one" is the summit of your reasoning and intelligence then maybe wev`e discovered the reason for your posts. Calm down and read the message. I am sure you have a lot to offer on here but just cut down the pointless rubbish

I have seen people post about...... When a plane flew over my house. Or something like when I met a stranger, yet no one questioned the post. At least Gel is putting forward his observations

No merry go round this time after all the guy has fixed it. Sky was on 1080i for all channels and that was where the problem was coming from. He put it on a different resolution that each channel on sky was on and solved. He did write a report saying that there was faults but hopefully they are now fixed. Looks great now. He said he loved the TV.

Series 1boy- I decided to give you a couple of days to consider your seriously offensive comment towards me recently and by now you are probably very embarrased at the course comment you made regarding myself ( I assume you have thought about how you conducted yourself) I have, of course reported your actions but I have decided to overlook what you said and forgive you. It is a sad day when someone on this forum is unable to make an observation on a post without being subject to abuse merely because they do not agree with someone elses point of view.

I do not expect you to apologise but I live in the hope that you take on board my comments and you do not respond to this post in the same manner as before

Some of the forum members are protective about gel for very good reasons. Your comments were ignorant, to be honest. But you don't know gel well at all, so fair enough. I would suggest you to not attack gel again.

Maybe you should have spent that couple of days considering your own offensive comment towards Gel. You are probably very embarrassed at your comment (I assume you have thought about how you conducted yourself). Maybe you can Google the word 'sorry' and then come back with something to be proud of. Good luck.

because you are a bully and this is a prime example on what bully's do; I.e. Telling someone their post is worthless and to get a life... how do you know Gels state and current feelings in life?? This is why you are a COMPLETE KNOB!

All tv sets up till this year are not displaying HDR10 properly, including OLED sets. The only TV set that has come close to showing it properly is the new Sony ZD9.

What do you mean not displaying it properly?
If you have been reading reviews of all the latest tv sets you will understand what I mean.

I must admit I'm not sure what you're getting at. According to the reviews on the AV forums conducted using a Klein colour meter, the Panasonic 902 hits perfect HDR colour reproduction and the LG OLED comes close. In fact the Panasonic has the finest colour reproduction of any tv of the market according to their analysis which is probably down to the fact that it was tuned to Hollywood colour standards. They rate it better than the LG for overall PQ. Something I agree with having seen the 902 and LG back to back. In fact the biggest issue with the 902 for me, is the fact it doesn't come in a 50 or 55" size.

If you mean the Rec2020 coverage, then yep, most tv's seem to be reproducing around 75% of Rec2020 or less currently.

As for UHD Blu Ray, personally I'd pass. There's no way I'd pay £600, or even half that for a player that takes nearly a minute to boot. I still have a Blu Ray (HD) player that takes that long and within a year, they were booting in seconds. Personally anything that takes more than a few seconds to boot falls into the unsuable category for me which is probably why my HD Blu ray has only ever been turned on about 5 times int he 3 or more years I've had it. Using it just makes me want to throw it through the window. I have no time for slow tech. Once bitten twice shy. When manufacturers put in fast processors and memory, then its the time to look again at these players. At least in my opinion.

However the E6 struggled with HDR 10 material at the other end of the dynamic range spectrum and the OLED was incorrectly mapping content which resulted in clipping. This was particularly obvious in the arrival at Neverland scene in Pan, which we have in both HDR 10 and Dolby Vision. There is a shot in the scene where the sun is setting behind a mountain and in the Dolby Vision version the sun is a clearly defined circle - you can see the Dolby Vision version in the left hand side image below. However when watching the exact same scene in HDR 10 the sun is clipping and appears as a patch of colour with no definition or detail - which is the one on the bottom right.

The above is a review of the LG E6(AV Forums). Now the E6 is much brighter than the panny and was having problems display HDR10 properly. If you read the same review it goes on to explain lcds are better at displaying HRD10.

LCD has it's own short falls displaying HDR10 which was blooming. The Sony ZD9 eliminates the problem of blooming to a large extent, only noticeable from wide viewing angles.

I think your mistaken there. the Pansonic brightness was measured at 1,278 nits peak: https://www.avforums.com/review/panasonic-tx-58-dx902B-dx900-ultra-hd-4k-hdr-tv-review.12278#sectionAnchor47278

The E6's brightness was measured at 640 nits, 1/2 as bright as the Panasonic: https://www.avforums.com/review/lg-oled65e6-ultra-hd-4k-oled-hdr-tv-review.12282

You not getting my point. Yes the panny is bright but it does suffer from bad blooming, which the Sony ZD9 does much better.
