Hello . New here! Quick question please.......does anyone know if the Hudson Hi-Fi Acrylic Turntable Mat is compatible with a Project - Debut Carbon DC turntable? The mat is 3mm thick so I believe it is but I'm not 100%. Thanks in advance.

Turntable mats are usually of a standard size so should fit most decks. You may need the adjust the VTA of the tonearm , it depends..... Not too sure of the thickness of the fitted felt mat.
Why do you think you need one?
At least it's cheap.

Cheers for response. I removed the cheap felt mat and have been using a cork one. Certain records still omit a fair bit of static to the point when I lift the record off the cork mat sticks to it. I saw quite good reviews for the acrylic one and thought it may help. I don't believe VTA can be adjusted on this turntable.

Thanks for the advise. Main thing I am trying to confirm, is am I OK placing a 3mm acrylic mat on top of my base turntable platter. You can't adjust VTA on a Project Carbon DC but my gut feeling is that it should be OK? It will obviously raise height a tad more than a felt or cork mat.

You could try asking Project, there is a contact form on their website: https://www.project-audio.com/en/contact/

You can't adjust VTA on a Project Carbon DC
VTA it + Project mats if required or lower profile cartridge 100s of factory options
€ 19,90
1,5mm tonearm spacer

Adjust the vertical tracking angle
Use thicker upgrade mats like Cork it

There are obviously ways to do so if needed as with Rega tonearms.
I doubt there is much difference between this platter mat and the felt mat it replaces, thickness wise.

Thanks everyone for the advise. I am kinda tempted to push the boat out seeing it's Christmas and purchase the Project Debut Aluminium Sub Platter and Project Acryl It Acrylic Platter. Not exactly cheap but from what I have read these 2 items would be good upgrades.

As your motivation seems to be due to static problems, have you considered addressing that? Many modern houses with central heating get quite dry, so some well watered pot plants, or a small sponge in a pot half-filled with water placed near the turntable might increase humidity enough to help.

Maybe your carpet or footwear generate static? There are numerous causes around the home. However, I’m no lover of felt mats, so I quite appreciate you wanting to change it.

A thrifty fix is three or four strips of double-sided tape to secure the felt mat to the platter!

Cheers for the response. All change. Static is actually only on a few albums but motivation was both that and any improvements I can make, to what to me already sounds good. I opted for both the Project acrylic platter and sub platter in the end.
