Hi All

I am thinking of getting a Hush Technolgies E6 HTPC and I was just wondering how I would be able to connect it to an amp. The HTPC will have audio from the motherboard which is a GIGABYTE GA-EP45C-DS3R (see here)

It has 6 x 3.5mm audio out and 1 x S/PDIF out.

My questions are:
[*]which integrated amps < £750 would be a good fit with this[*]what would be the best way to connect the amp to this HTPC[*]is it a problem connecting a 3.5mm to an RCA Jack (are there leads to do this?)

I really appreciate the help

thanks
Matt

Hi newmaidumosa,

Definately the best way would by to use the S/PIDF out. That involves getting a coaxial digital audio cable and connecting it to your HTPC and your amplifier. To answer No.3 it is very easy to get a 3.5mm to RCA Jack. Literally if you search google for "3.5mm to RCA" you'll find heaps. But seeing as it is best to use Coaxial you needn't worry about this. Lastly the amplifier. There are really many options at this price range. You really must listen to the Yamaha AX863SE at RRP£600. Just pop into your local Hi-Fi place and audition this and any other amps around the same price. The most important thing is to find something that you like listening to and sounds good with your equipment.

Also, can you please post the specifications and price of the E6 HTPC as from what I've seen it is a great little device but insanely overpriced. I am quite the computer guy and can help you with finding something that meets your needs and isn't over-(or under-)specified.

Cheers,
