Hi everyone I think I am going to take the plunge and buy the Panasonic TH42PZ85. I know a few of you have done this with John Lewis but how? Do you have to find a local store or can you ring any? All info would be greatful, thanks PDBAXT.

Hey. I price matched my TH37PX80 with John Lewis and got a really good deal (IMO) at £619 with 5yrs guarantee. I know it's not the same TV but the principle is the same. Phone your local John Lewis store with the details of the shop you want to price match with - I had to supply telephone number and location - and what price they are selling it for. The shop has to have an actual store and not just be on the internet. Also the item has to be in stock at the shop. John Lewis say it takes 7-10 days for a response but I got mine within 3 days and picked the TV up straight away. I price matched with sound and vision if that helps. Good Luck and happy viewing!
I collected as I was far too impatient to wait, but yes I believe they chuck in free delivery as well.

I got the model you are looking at last week. JL watford had it on the shop floor for 1099. I guess they got tired of price matching. I asked my two local jl stores to pm against watford. This they did. Reading and wycombe. I picked it up though as delivery was lots if days wait.

really useful information here as I want to do exactly the same....Josh what was the delivery time on this via Watford?
I know people in Scotland have been using JL stores on the enlish side of the border due to the scottish branched implementing an 8 mile radius price match. I think you could probably use any store you like.
Well I have just rang my local JW store which is in Solihull (go to their online page to find the nearest store to you... http://www.johnlewis.com/Shops/DSHome.aspx ) and simple ask to pricematch the cheapest retail shop in the country which at the moment was Sound and Vision in Bolton at £1045.90 Incl VAT & Delivery ( http://www.soundandvision.co.uk/moreinfo/index.asp?product_id=15918 )
they have to fill out a form for the price match request and said it would take about 5 days for a reply, so fingers crossed.... Hope this helps anyone else.

Hi again Hull man - i did the same thing with JL sheffield and asked them to price match Sound and Vision in Bolton - they did this but still put on the £65 charge for delivery (as S&V charged the same) - I am pretty sure that if you pick it up then they will not charge
Hi, my brother from another mother, boken by the muddy river...... Hull fc win again must of had their shreddies...come on yer rrrrrreeeeeedddddsssssss! ha ha. Anyway the web site stated on my selection from Sound and vis that it came with free delivery so I think that is price matched aswell. Have a look at what you price matched with?
