Set the blu ray player to bitstream (will tell you in manual).......the Denon will show True hd/masterHd etc on the display if the blu ray is set to bitstream......

Have a look.......let me know.....

Your saying set it to bitstream but i dont see this option anywhere in the menu :(

If i go to HDMI Audio out it says Auto / PCM / Off

Audio out is on DTS Downmix / Stereo

On the amp i am getting True HD Glowing up in Blu. so does this mean the Receiver is decoding the sound ?

Must do - if your Blu-Ray player was decoding onboard to PCM, the amp wouldn't be able to tell it was originally a TrueHD signal. If it's detecting a TrueHD signal, the Blu-Ray player must therefore be bitstreaming the audio.

ok cool , So if my Amp is saying True HD then the amp is decoding , so am i right in saying if my amp says Multi ch in then the Blu-ray player is decoding ?

Im still getting the sound Delay this is why i wanted to try them both and see if it fixed the problem , I will upgrade my HDMI leads and see if that helps . if i cant fix it then ill just get denon Blu-ray player instead :) ill keep playing around with it . Cheers for the help guys with knowing whats decoding what :) x

Yes, that is correct. If your Denon A/V Receiver shows "Dolby True HD", "DTS-HD Master", etc, then yes, your Denon A/V Receiver is receiving bitstreamed audio data from your Pioneer Blu-ray Disc Player.

If, however, your Denon A/V Receiver shows "LPCM" or "Multich Input" or "PCM", then your Pioneer Blu-ray Player is decoding and sending decoded audio information to your Denon A/V Receiver.

In terms of lip-synching issues, have you done the automatic calibration/set-up on your Denon? If you have and it is still an issue, use a tape measure and manually in-put speaker distances to your main listening position.

Dan.

If all your components are hdmi 1.3 compatible and all your hdmi cables are the same, the lip sync should be automatic.
